United States Former President Bill Clinton visited the Pies Descalzos school in Barranquilla. He was accompanied by the president of Pies Descalzos, MarÌa Emma MejÌa, and the Manager of the Clinton-Guistra Sustainable Growth Initative of the William J. Clinton Foundation, Monica Varela.

The former US President visited all of the facilities of the new educational center, which was inaugurated in February of 2009 and provides services to 1,600 children from the impoverished area of Corregimiento de la Playa.
