felicidades por tu nuevo disco! no puede esperar a verte en Staples Center este sabado 23! Y por cierto la portada del disco me salio defectuosa ya que tiene una mancha rosita en tu frente. Pense q era parte de la foto pero vi otras fotos en el internet y no tienes la manchita rosa.. quien sabe que paso. Te quiero y te admiro!

Sale el sol - outstanding!
Shakira is one of the greatest artist I've known, all her albums are good, but Sale el sol is GREAT ! It's very "Shakira like" with well written songs, songs with souls, that actually touch ours, such as Lo que mas (it's so beautiful it hurts), sale el sol and antes de las seis. Songs that bring out the latin inside of everybody like: Addicted to you and Rabiosa.
And the thing I like the most is that most of the song are in spanish! That's Shakira!
Cant wait to see her perform this album live! Come to Brazil hey! Come to Bahia!

My review
Clearly (for me) because everyone has a personal opinion, it is one of her best albums lyrically and acoustically. I don't care how many stars critics will give 'Sale El Sol' as long as it makes me pleased. Also everyone must agree to this (cause some this are so obvious and are not to be taken subjectively) that her new album is so original as Shakira herself. Even more original than Donde Estan Los Ladrones. It goes around 12 years since this 'treasure' but Shakira was 21 then and now is 33. It is more original from a 33 y.o woman than a 21-years old girl. I can see this in wonderful songs like 'Antes De La Seis' that may not exceed the power of 'Inevitable' or 'Sombra De Ti' but this woman's maturity flows entirely in every ballad of Sale El Sol. And to think that this album is so wonderful because it combines Shakira's rock side with the melancholistic artistic ballads and afterwards a splash of hot merengue beats infused with electronic upbeat sounds. This album dives into positive and shining energy even if the melancholy in some points makes you think if the Sun Goes Down. No, Shakira's sun really comes out, not with the positive energy you think. It is not only about getting 'Loca' and be Calle 13's 'Gordita' but the positive thing on this album for me and from what I've listened so far is that even in hard times and black storms, in your heart you can make the sun come out and shine in your heart, soul and mind. Everything will be fine, even if it is not seems like...fine. Thank you Shaki for giving me this treasure in this hard part of my life. Love you forever :)

Hello from El Paso texas
I looked for the album in several stores and finally got it. I heard in facebook, but now thats in my hands I cant stop listening and while I listen I read the lyrics. I love all the songs specially mi gordita it is very different from what shaki does and I love it the beat everything and I also love rabiosa something about it just clicks. If I like the beat i like the song. Shes the best and the only artist I want to have their music from never get tired of her music.

Clearly not the most original Shakira album, but definitely the most fun and positive!
If She-wolf was considered a safe step to go commercial,
while it had introduced a new vocal and lyrical style to which Shakira had fully adapted and been proved a master of,
then this one is a far more safe and commercial move, since it simply showcases the styles that Shakira had a success with during ‘Dónde Están los Ladrones?’, ‘Laundry Service’ and the hits ‘La Tortura’ and ‘Hips Don’t Lie’.
Based its core on covers (Loca and Islands) it takes the two commercially strongest Shakira styles another trip back to the past decade, while featuring samples found in almost all the typical hit songs of the two styles featured in it.
The most unoriginal vocabulary and weakest lyrical structures featured in Shakira’s repertoire so far result in loose uninteresting hooks,
Shakira’s contribution to the songwriting process is non-existent,
while there is no distinct vocal development or a new vocal approach as Shakira always showcased in all her past albums.
Still, somehow the album manages to sound fresh and entertaining which is a great deal.
In the end, all that matters is that the new music out by Shakira is nice music that will appeal to a lot of people who will relate to the songs that will be hits once again. :)
The only thing that I hope for, is that the two most complex, demanding and special songs in the album, Devoción and Tu Boca, don’t face the same fate as the two best She-Wolf album songs (Mon Amour and Men In This Town) and get released as singles and promoted the way they deserve to be. It would be very sad to make the same mistake twice and not promote the strongest songs of the album once again.
And just one more notice. Including songs in both languages makes this and any other album look a little cheap. Especially when the songs are amazing in one language and remarkably weaker in the other, I think it is kind of pointless releasing them in both languages. As if there is any need for fillers. Even though I don’t speak Spanish it is more than obvious that the Spanish versions of songs like Rabiosa are so much better that it makes the English versions sound really bad by comparison. Just as Did it Again just didn’t work as well in Spanish, or just as the English lyrics in Addicted to You sound impressively out of place and are badly jointed.
Ideal singles from the album for me would be in order:
Loca and Islands (because they are the pylons of the album),
Gordita and Devoción,
and if there could be more singles,
then Rabiosa and Tu Boca would be my choices.
