Early Childhood Develop Center to open in Quibdó, Colombia
With the presence of the First Lady of the nation, María Clemencia Rodríguez de Santos, who heads the National Strategy “De Cero a Siempre” (From Zero to Forever) together with the ICBF and the “Primero lo Primero” (First Things First) Alliance formed by the aeioTU foundations— Carulla Foundation, Julio Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, Pies Descalzos Foundation and ALAS foundation along with other private and public institutions will carry out the official opening of the first Early Childhood Development Center to operate in the community of Quibdó.
This center will attend to 220 boys and girls under the age of five in a joint effort with the Mayor’s office of Quibdó, among other private and public entities. The total investment in the Center, located in the Cabí neighborhood, surpassed 1,5 billion Colombian pesos used towards construction, staffing, and operation. The Cabí Early Childhood Development center is located in the western area of Quibdó and integrates the communities of Cascorva, El Desafio, Montebello y Cabi, among others.
This project provides a great alternative and solution that will improve the quality of life for future generations of Chocó, whose residents have historically lived in conditions of high vulnerability. “De Cero a Siempre” is the National Strategy of Integral Attention to Early Childhood created in the government by Presidente Juan Manuel Santos and whose head spokesperson is the First Lady. The “Primero lo Primero” Alliance is formed by the above-mentioned foundations and will deliver the first 13 Early Childhood Development Centers in various regions throughout the country, as a jumping off point so that other private and public companies continue to support this cause and thus achieve that 100% of the early youth of Colombia receive quality care and attention.

Con la presencia de la Primera Dama de la Nación, María Clemencia Rodríguez de Santos, quien lidera la Estrategia Nacional de “Cero a Siempre” junto con el ICBF y la gran Alianza “Primero lo Primero” conformada por las Fundaciones aeioTU – Carulla-, Mario Santo Domingo, Pies Descalzos y ALAS se llevará a cabo la apertura oficial del primer Centro de Desarrollo Infantil que opera en Quibdó. Este centro atenderá a 220 niños y niñas menores de cinco años en un esfuerzo conjunto con la Alcaldía de Quibdó y entidades público privadas.
La inversión total del Centro ubicado en el barrio Cabí superó los mil quinientos millones de pesos destinados para la construcción, dotación y operación del lugar. El Centro de Desarrollo Infantil Cabí esta ubicado en la zona occidental de Quibdó e integra las comunidades de Cascorva, El Desafío, Montebello y Cabí, entre otras. Esta obra constituye una gran alternativa y una solución de mejoramiento de calidad de vida para las generaciones futuras de Chocó, que han vivido en condiciones históricas de alta vulnerabilidad.
De Cero Siempre es la Estrategia Nacional de Atención Integral a la Primera Infancia creada en el gobierno del Presidente Juan Manuel Santos y cuya vocería está en cabeza de la Primera Dama. La alianza, “Primero lo Primero” esta conformada por las Fundaciones arriba mencionadas y entregará los primeros 13 centros de atención en diferentes regiones del país, como un inicio para que muchas otras empresas público privadas sigan apoyando esta causa y así lograr que el 100% de la primera infancia en Colombia reciba una atención de calidad.
